Insplorion AB has today received a TechConnect Global Innovation Award at the Tech Connect World Forum in Washington DC for its nanoplasmonic sensing based battery sensor.
The Jury’s motivation: “The TechConnect Innovation Awards selects the top early-stage innovations from around the world through an industry-review process. Rankings are based on the potential positive impact the submitted technology will have on a specific industry sector. The Value Proposition for Insplorion is that better battery management is today limited by the lack of information about the actual state inside the battery cells. Insplorions NPS based sensors aim to give direct input about the cell state by sensing chemical and temperature changes directly inside the battery cell via a thin optical fibre. This will enable a more correct estimate of State of charge and state of health of 10-15%, allowing each battery to be run more efficient as well as allowing longer lifetime and safer running conditions”
