Summary

My research project concerns the correlation between structure and activity of catalytic nanoparticles. For the investigation of this relation, I use the catalytically induced change of the refractive index of a reagent solution that is confined in a nanochannel, as the refractive index determines the scattering of light from the nanochannel. The goal is to create a platform that can assess the catalytic activity of single nanoparticles without the help of fluorescent markers or extensive equipment.
